Another step towards a Paperless future
As you may know, GLOBODOX ships with both a Windows based desktop client and a web browser based client.
With GLOBODOX web client you can access your documents from any standard web browser! The web browser itself could be running on a Windows, Mac or Linux machine. With the recently released v8 of GLOBODOX we have significantly improved the performance of the web client. So now is a good time as any to look at some of the things you can do with the GLOBODOX web client…
- Document Access: Let’s start with the most obvious of the activities. Although all the ‘serious’ kind of document creation is done at desks, with the kind of travelling we do for work, it would be pretty handy to have another way of accessing them. If your document management system comes with a web client, you could easily access the important documents on the go. This means that your documents will be mobile and accessible all the time.
- Document Updating: Okay, so you have your document and have made the changes you wanted. How do you ensure that your colleagues in the office can access this changed document immediately. Simply upload the changed document using the web client..Your colleagues can now see that your changed document is the latest version. This means that you don’t have to be worried about forgetting the changed document on your laptop. Wherever you go, an Internet connection and a simple web client can help you access documents, change them and update your office database with the changed copies.
- Collaboration: A major part of document management is about sharing and collaborating on them. If you cannot share a document quickly with colleagues in your team, all that effort in creating the document is wasted. Imagine you are on the road and a colleague urgently needs access to a document that they normally do not have access to. Using the web client you can login from anywhere, locate the document and share with the colleague who needs access.
