Draft Documents
NOTE: The Draft Document module is included with GLOBODOX Suite and is not available with GLOBODOX Standard.
Draft documents in GLOBODOX are temporary, intermediate documents that can be created while a team of users works on the next major version of a document. While regular, published documents can be accessed by anyone, draft versions of these documents can only be accessed by the editing team. Thus, draft documents enable both, a team of users to securely collaborate on the next version of a document and another team to review the document before it is made available to a larger set of users (e.g. an entire department or company).
Scenario
ACME Corp manages its policy documents using GLOBODOX. These documents can be read by all employees but not edited by them.
When the Hiring Policy document needs change, the company asks Jane and her team to update it. This involves:
- Multiple edits,
- Discussing changes,
- Getting approvals, and
- Publishing the new version.
Meanwhile, the rest of ACME Corp continues to view the current version of the document. The new version is only visible once approved and published.

Process with Draft Module
Benefits
- Improve collaboration without the need for emails, chats, phone calls to get your team’s feedback on documents. Feedback can be given through notes and annotations within GLOBODOX.
- Secure access privileges based on roles. Allow only the editing team to view and edit draft documents while allowing others to only view the published documents.
- Sign and stamp automatically using GLOBODOX’s workflow module.
- Eliminate confusion while updating important documents. Instead of checking-in the document as usual, check-in the document as a draft ‘under review’ to make it visible only to the core editing team.
- Publish with one click once the changes are made and approved. Use the “Publish” option to roll out edited documents to the entire user base.
