Benefits of roles in GLOBODOX?

GLOBODOX roles let you group privileges & assign them to multiple users simultaneously. Roles also help to transfer privileges to new employees. You can simply assign an outgoing employee’s role to a new employee, to ensure that all the information accessible to the earlier employee instantly becomes accessible to the new employee.

How to clone a role in GLOBODOX?

Let’s say you have an existing role named ‘HR Role’ and now you want to create another role having the same privileges as the role ‘HR Role’ but you want to restrict the ‘Delete’ privileges for the new user Buck who has recently joined the HR department.

To clone an existing role, click on ‘Settings’ and under ‘System Settings’ click on ‘Roles’. All the existing roles will be displayed in the right pane, which is the roles list. Select a role based on which you want to create the new role. Then, click on the ‘Clone Role’ button on the ribbon bar to duplicate the existing role. The ‘Clone Role’ window will be launched. Add a name & description for the new role and click on ‘OK’. The new role will be created & added to the roles list.

To remove ‘Delete’ privileges from the role, open the new role, click on ‘Core Privileges’, select ‘Delete’, and check ‘None’. And click on the ‘Save & close’ button. The new role will have the same privileges as the existing role, but users assigned to this role will not be able to delete anything.
