How to create a group in GLOBODOX

Overview

What are GLOBODOX groups?

GLOBODOX groups are a collection of users that may be working on the same project or users working in the same department, and might need to be quickly assigned identical privileges. 

How to create a group in GLOBODOX?

To create a group in GLOBODOX, select ‘Settings’ and under ‘System Settings’ click on ‘Groups’. By default, GLOBODOX ships with two groups – Administrators & Users, and by default, every new group created in GLOBODOX will have the ‘Users’ group as their primary group.

To create a new group click on the ‘New’ button on the ribbon bar. The ‘New Group’ window will be launched. Give the new group a name. You can also enter a short description and assign a parent group to the new group. Once you have entered the details, click on ‘Save’.

Next, you need to add users to the new group. To add users click on the ‘Users’ tab and click on ‘Add Member’. In the ‘Look for’ dropdown select ‘Users’ and click on ‘Find’. A list of all registered GLOBODOX users from your company will be displayed in the ‘Available data’ box below. Move users to the new group by double-clicking on their usernames or by selecting the user and pressing the move button. Once you have moved all the required users to the new group, click on ‘OK’

But as mentioned earlier, by default, every new group created in GLOBODOX will have the ‘Users’ group as their primary group. To set the new group as the users’ primary group, select the user & click on the ‘Set as Primary’ button. Next, you need to assign privileges to the group’s users. It is recommended that you select the group privileges options from the ‘Core Privileges’ tab to simultaneously assign privileges to all the users within the group.
