What are stack types & how do they help?
Stack types are a group of related documents that share the same indexing information. You can stack together documents related to a particular client, project, etc, to index & find them more easily. For example: If you create a stack called ‘client’, you will be able to create a separate stack of documents for every client. You can then categorise your stacks based on metadata like ‘client name, ‘address’, ‘contact number’, ‘email ID’, etc, and you can also link documents related to each client with their respective stack, like ‘invoices’, ‘purchase history’, ‘emails’, ‘ID documents’, etc, for easier retrieval.
How to create new stack types?
Before creating a new stack type, you need to ensure:
Your user ID has ‘Manage DB Schema’ privileges
No other user is logged into the GLOBODOX account
To create a new stack type, select ‘stack types’ in DB settings and click on new. Give your stack type a name & add the fields you want for your stack type, like ‘name’, ‘date of birth’, ‘address’, ‘designation’, etc. Once you have added the fields & selected the corresponding type of content in each field, select a primary text field by right clicking on one of the text fields & selecting it as the primary field. And finally click on save & close to start using your new stack type.
